KCC GLASS Corporation Establishes Its First Overseas Factory in Indonesia to Take Over the Global Ma

2021-05-06

KCC GLASS Corporation, a representative integrated glass company in Korea, establishes its first overseas glass factory in Indonesia to buckle down to the global market centering on the Southeast Asia market.

KCC GLASS Corporation held a board meeting on the 6th and passed the resolution for the establishment of glass factory in Batang Industrial Park, Central Java, Indonesia. The glass factory, in the size of 490,000㎡ (49 ha) in total, is scheduled for completion in 2024 and expected to produce around 43.8 thousand tons of architectural float glass per year at the time of completion.

The establishment of glass factory in Indonesia is expected to serve as a turning point to leap into a global company over the leading glass company in domestic market. Notably, as the construction market in Southeast Asia is shown as a lucrative market recording nearly two times higher growth rate than that of the world construction market, many related Korean companies have been scramble to enter into the Southeast Asia market.

Meanwhile, KCC GLASS Corporation is planning to sell architectural float glasses produced from its glass factory in Indonesia to the local and Southeast Asia markets and expand the factory in stages to develop it to an integrated glass cluster for overseas market. The factory scheduled to be established in Indonesia will be the first overseas manufacturing factory of KCC GLASS Corporation since its spin-off last year and be expected to serve as a bridgehead for its expansion to the global market.

On the 20th, KCC GLASS Corporation is scheduled to hold a groundbreaking ceremony at the factory construction site in Indonesia with the company and Indonesian government officials.
